Insect Invasion (Insektinvasion)
Artist residency developed on the basis of the performances ANT BUSINESS and Banquet for Bees.
The goal is to facilitate the meeting between performance arts, biology and nature/technology in a creative process, where body and nature are central. The students will work for four days with performer and dancer in ANT BUSINESS (MYREPOSTYR), My Lindblad Szlavik, who is a professional dance artist with many years of experience in communicating art to children and young people.
We invite the children into a universe where we explore the living creatures around us through our body and senses, with a particular focus on the Ant and its life. With a starting point in creative dance and choreography, My guides them through a process where the children's own fantasy and creativity is activated through different movement exercises, which are inspired by the Ant and its way of living.
We have done the artist residency for 2 seasons with 20 schools in Aarhus and Copenhagen in collaboration with Børnekulturhuset in Aarhus, Børnekulturhus Ama’r and Valby Kulturhus.
