Walking Lecture on Ants

Performing arts meets brain- and ants science: An artistic ant experience with talks, walks, sensory input, taste experiences and soundscapes. Created and performed by Secret Hotel.

In a world that changes rapidly - and perhaps more radically than we can comprehend - it can be interesting to look to how other societies operate. When we dive into the animal world and e.g. experience how it feels to act as a working ant, we meet different ways of constructing societies, and we learn more about ourselves and our own world along the way.

How are ants' social structures shaped - compared to ours? How does their world sound and how does it taste and smell? These are some of the questions that we will ask through a unique combination of performing arts, walks and elements of lectures. With ant researcher Hans Joachim Offenberg and brain researcher and anthropologist Andreas Roepstorff , Secret Hotel invites you on a unique adventure about one of the Earth's tiniest and oldest creates, the Ant.

The child friendly version of this performance is called Ant Business.
Ant Business (Myrepostyr) can be booked for children aged 8-12 years.
